Remembrance Service November 12

All faculty and staff are invited to this year’s Remembrance Service on November 12 at 5:10 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel. In the Catholic church, November is set aside as a month to remember loved ones who have died. Members of the Canisius community are invited to submit names of loved ones they have lost this year to be remembered in a special way at this service. Their lives will be celebrated through music and prayer. Please submit names by November 10 to Campus Ministry at Ext. 2420 or via E-mail to fischers@canisius.edu.

Cyber Security Tip – Beware of Filesharing Applications

ITS recommends against installing filesharing applications such as Kazaa, Limewire, Ares, and others on Canisius computers. In addition to the legal issues involved if you should happen to accidentally download some copyright-infringing material, files found through such services are often packaged with all sorts of spyware and other unpleasantness. Also, it is fairly common for people to mis-configure these applications and accidentally make photos, credit card and other sensitive information available to the Internet at large.
