Canisius College To Announce 24th President Today

Canisius College will announce the appointment of the university’s 24th president during a news conference on Tuesday, October 20 at 10 a.m. in the Montante Cultural Center.

We hope you will join members of the college’s Boards of Trustees and Regents, alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends of the college as we gather on this momentous occasion. Refreshments will be served after the announcement.

Open Forum For Dean Of College Of Arts & Sciences Candidates

The first open forum for the four finalists in the search for the next Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences will be held today, Tuesday, October 20. All faculty and staff are invited to meet Richard Finkelstein, PhD, chair and professor of English, SUNY Geneseo, from 2 – 2:45 p.m. in the Grupp Fireside Lounge.

Application material will be available at the open forums and will also be available to the faculty through their department chair.

Griffs Begin Three Game Homestand

The Griffs host Cleveland State Wednesday at 7 p.m

Fresh off an exhilarating triumph at Siena, the Canisius women’s soccer team begins a season-ending three game homestand Wednesday night with a non-conference tilt against the Vikings of Cleveland State University. Game time is 7 p.m. under the Demske lights. No admission charge.

FYI – This coming week is full of Family Weekend events. A complete schedule will follow later this week. And don’t forget to pick up your basketball season tickets — the season opener is four weeks away.

2009 Distinguished Alumni Award Dinner

The 2009 Canisius College Distinguished Alumni Awards dinner will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2009 in the Montante Cultural Center. Cocktails begin at 6 p.m. and dinner will begin at 7 p.m. – cost per person is $75.
