Last Chance For Flu Shot

For those who were unable to get a flu shot at Student Health, there is another chance to take advantage of getting a flu shot on campus.

Independent Health will sponsor flu shots on Tuesday (October 25) in the Campus Ministry Conference Room on the 2nd floor of Old Main from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Busy schedules can be accommodated by scheduling an appointment with Human Resources at Ext. 2240. Chorale to Perform at St. Andrew’s Church Sunday (October 23)

The Canisius College Chorale, under the direction of Frank Scinta, will inaugurate its 2011-2012 “Sacred Spaces” Concert Series with a performance on Sunday (October 23) at 7:30 p.m. in St. Andrew’s Church, 1526 Sheridan Drive, Kenmore, NY. The program is free and open to the public. It will feature works of Mendelssohn, Lotti, Lauridsen, Bernstein, Dawson and others.

“Sacred Spaces” stems from an idea the choir proposed six years ago to feature its music in some of Western New York’s most beautiful and acoustically resonant environments – namely, the sanctuaries of our region’s present and former churches. As a result, the choir has visited nearly thirty houses of worship with its repertoire of sacred and secular music spanning five centuries.

Now in its 14th season, the Canisius College Chorale remains one of Western New York’s most active collegiate music ensembles. Composed of 120 undergraduate and graduate members, the chorale regularly presents concert programs to schools, churches, and community audiences throughout Western New York and Southern Ontario. In recent years, the Chorale has performed with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Ars Nova Chamber Musicians, Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus and the Dave Brubeck Quartet.
