Video Institute Presents “Game Create” Tuesday (October 18)

The Canisius College Video Institute will present a screening of Game Create, a documentary about creativity in the gaming subculture by Garrett Weinholtz ’12, on Tuesday (October 18) at 7 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center.

Game Create tells the story of a new breed of gamers who have become programmers and designers willing to go “under the hood” of their game consoles.  Through their shared nostalgic meaning, games become the common language for exciting collaborations with other disciplines: a vehicle for visualizing physics, making music, exhibiting art and ultimately getting a job as a “talented” programmer.

Reminder: Still Time To Give To United Way Campaign

The United Way Executive Committee would like to thank the Canisius community for contributions to the United Way Campaign that currently total $23,359.  We also would like to remind those that intend to give, but haven’t as yet, that the campaign will end Wednesday, October 19.  The goal is $30,000 and with everyone’s help, the goal will be reached for the 12th consecutive year.  No gift is too small for this worthy cause.
