Yu Presents “Confucius and Chinese Culture”

Jiyuan Yu, PhD, professor of philosophy at University of Buffalo and vice president of international society for Chinese philosophy, will discuss “Confucius and Chinese Culture” on Thursday (October 20) at 5:30 p.m in the Regis Room North. Dr. Yu presents Confucius’ main philosophical ideas in the Analects and explains the role of Confucius in defining Chinese culture. He also traces the historical development of Confucianism and discusses its contemporary relevance. This presentation is sponsored by the departments of Modern Languages, Literatures & Cultures and Philosophy, and the Joseph J. Naples ’41 Conversations in Christ & Culture Lecture Series. Fall 2011 Online Course Development Workshop
