Students from the Department of Kinesiology “Learn the Ropes”

On Monday, September 26, Canisius College health and physical education students from PED 305/PEG 505, Cooperative Activities and Outdoor Curriculum, worked with 15 fifth and sixth grade students from Tapestry Charter School and 15 students from Hamburg Middle School.  Jennifer Goldin, grade 5/6 math teacher from Tapestry, and Mark Warner and Steven Chaffee, both PE teachers in Hamburg and adjunct professors in the Canisius College Department of Kinesiology, partnered for the mutual benefit of their students.  Utilizing the facilities at Hamburg Middle and High School, the instructors worked with the children to teach the skills and outcomes of positive group interactions in an outdoors setting.  (more…)

Requesting Nominations for “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges”

Each fall semester, the college is given the opportunity to nominate a number of talented junior and senior students for inclusion in the publication “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.” Brian Smith, director of leadership development and chair of the selection committee, invites all faculty and staff to actively participate in the nomination of juniors and seniors for this honor.
