Peter Szczepankiewicz, IBM Security Engineer and representative the SANS (SysAdmin, Audit, Network, Security) Institute as a community instructor, will hold a workshop on cyber security on Wednesday, February 10 from 7 – 9 p.m. in Horan O’Donnell, Room 107.  All faculty and staff are welcome to attend.

This workshop in the field of information security will cover a standard process to handle cyber attacks so that effective defenses and countermeasures can be put in place.  Some of the tools and techniques covered include Webspy, password attacks, cracking Web applications, metasploit, and hiding your tracks.  Attendees will be encouraged to think about the defensive tools that are currently in place in computer networks they may oversee, and whether those tools currently configured to counter cyber attacks.
