The Canisius College All-College Honors Program will present the following lectures:

Gary Radke, PhD Aristide Tessitore

Gary Radke, PhD, dean’s professor of the humanities at Syracuse University, will present “What Should a Sculpture by Leonardo da Vinci Look Like?” on Monday, February 8, 2010 from 3 – 4 p.m. in the Regis Room of the Richard E. Winter ’42 Student Center. An expert in Renaissance art, Radke is a fellow of the American Academy in Rome and is best known for his widely-translated college text, “Art in Renaissance Italy.” This lecture is followed by a reception.

Aristide Tessitore, political science professor at Furman University, will present “Individualism or Greatness? Tocqueville on America’s Uncertain Future,” on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in Regis North of the Richard E. Winter ’42 Student Center. Toqueville, a French nobleman from the early 19th century, is considered the most acute observer of American society and politics.
