Mike Schade, coordinator of the PVC-Free Schools campaign for the National Center for Health, Environment & Justice in New York City, will be leading a discussion on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 7 p.m. in the Grupp Fireside Lounge.  His lecture, titled “From Cancer Alley to Your College: Environmental Justice and PVC-Free Schools,” will cover information regarding PVC, the most toxic plastic in our environment.  Schade will also discuss how chemicals such as phthalates and dioxins released by PVC are linked to breast cancer, reproductive health problems, asthma, and learning disabilities.  All are welcome to attend.
