The Canisius College Jazz Ensemble and Concert Band perform their end of the year concert on Friday, April 20 at 7 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center as part of Ignatian Scholarship Day. The Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dave Schiavone, will perform works by Herbie Hancock, Victor Lopez, Charlie Parker and others. Their performance will be followed by the Concert Band, featuring Paul D. Biddle as director, with guest conductor John Maguda. This performance includes works by de Meij, Swearingen, Reed and a work for solo clarinet and wind ensemble by James Barnes with clarinetist Hanna Ball ’12.
