Library Fine Amnesty Begins Monday (April 23)

Start looking for those overdue books, DVDs and journals! The Fine Amnesty returns to the Andrew L. Bouwhuis Library from Monday, April 23 – Friday, May 18.

Replacement costs for lost books or equipment, will remain in effect. You can reduce your fine by donating one non-perishable food item for every dollar you owe in fines. For example, if you’ve accrued $5 in fines, bring in 5 food items. The only collection point for the food donation is the Circulation Desk in the Library. Amnesty applies to all ALB Library and Media Center fines.

Working with the Office of Campus Ministry, all food donations will benefit St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy Food Pantry. Remember items MUST be returned to the ALB Library to qualify for the amnesty.

New Mailboxes for Students

All student mailboxes will change on August 1, 2012. Resident students will receive a new mailbox number with their 2012 Fall housing assignment. This mailbox number will remain with students for all the years that they are present at Canisius. The new mailboxes will be located in Science Hall, located at 1901 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14208.

The new Student Address will be:
Student Name
Box # ______
1901 Main Street
Buffalo, NY 14208

Students are encouraged to make the necessary address changes with family, friends, banks, charge cards and magazines. Student mail and packages will no longer be accepted at 2001 Main Street.

All student packages should also be addressed to 1901 Main Street. As in previous years, when a student receives a package, they will be emailed a notification of the arrival of the package. They may then pick up their package in the new mailroom in Science Hall with proper identification.

The benefit of this change is that students will receive one mail box assignment and keep that same assignment for all the years that they attend Canisius. Changing residence locations will not change their mailbox assignment.
