All are welcome to attend a presentation entitled, “Behind the Swoosh: Sweatshops and Social Justice” from anti-Nike Sweatshop activist, Jim Keady, tonight (April 18) at 7 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel. Keady is the founder and director of Educating for Justice, a non-for-profit organization fighting for living wages and fair working conditions for Nike factory workers in Indonesia. After spending a year living with Nike factory workers in an Indonesian slum on $1.25 a day, a typical wage for factory workers, Keady made it his life’s mission to end sweatshop labor in Nike factories. Nike is the world’s leading company in athletic apparel and commits countless injustices in the factories across the world every day.

Jim Keady’s lecture is sponsored by the College Democrats and the Office of Campus Ministry.
