I enjoyed my time at BTPM learning a lot about the production of media. I was able to use my video editing and production skills in a professional setting. I worked on a few big projects including a multi-camera piano performance, a promo for JoAnn’s Classical Corner, end-of-year promotions, and a craft video. Being familiar with Adobe Creative Suite came in handy for getting projects done and if I was unfamiliar with something I would look up a tutorial or ask for help. My supervisor and coworkers were very accommodating and helpful in helping me learn how everything works at BTPM. Being remote was very helpful to help me be able to use my own equipment that I was familiar with so I could do a good job on my projects. Communicating through email and phone calls was sometimes difficult especially waiting for responses but overall I was able to easily communicate with my superiors to stay on top of my projects. Having now worked for a professional company it is nice to have professional experience on my resume and I have some projects I can add to my portfolio. I had a great time this summer at Buffalo Toronto Public Media and I am glad I was able to be one of their summer interns.
