My name is Ronan McDonald and this semester I am interning with Buffalo Sports Insider. At BSI, a branch of the Buffalo Broadcasters Association, we cover Buffalo’s professional and college sports, by hosting a show, writing stories, and creating media content on the teams we cover. I’m going to be writing stories about sports, specifically the Buffalo Bills and Sabres. Additionally, I plan on shadowing some of the crew at different sporting events and gaining insight as to what else I may want to try doing. Going into the internship I wasn’t sure what to expect because it’s primarily journalism and sports broadcasting work. However, I have settled in nicely as writing about sports is quite fun. I am excited to be able to learn many different skills without being limited to one title and thing I do. I hope to improve as a writer and learn more in public relations as we build BSI this semester.
