A Podcast is typically a digital audio only recording on a certain topic or series of topic. Podcasting can be a great alternative to essays or presentations while also teaching students about technology. And it is a relatively easy lift for both faculty and students.
At Canisius, there are several ways to get podcasting:
- Mobile Podcast Kits at the Canisius Library
- Use the Digital Media Laboratory (aka, the Podcast Room), located in OM402
In either case, if faculty are not sure how to use the equipment or are unsure how to incorporate Podcasting into your pedagogy, please feel free to make an appointment with COLI Staff.
Additionally, if faculty would like their class to use the Podcasting Room, please send the course abbreviation, number, and letter (ex, CAN101A) to helpdesk along with the request so we can add you and your students to the swipe access.
