A group of 10 Canisius students are back in class this morning after a whirlwind trip to Philadelphia this weekend, where they attended the Papal Mass that marked the conclusion of the World Meeting of Families.  The students departed for their journey on Friday, September 25, along with Campus Ministry Director Mike Hayes and Rev. James M. Pribek, SJ, associate professor of English.

President John J. Hurley was with the students before they departed from campus to wish them well and join in a group prayer. Channels 2 and 7 and Time Warner Cable News covered the send off. Watch Time Warner’s coverage here.

St. Joseph’s University hosted the Canisius contingent.  From the university, students walked five miles to Benjamin Franklin Parkway, the site for Sunday’s outdoor Mass.  After standing in a security line for more than three hours, the group watched the Papal Mass on a nearby large-screen TV.
