This Sunday, September 20, ArtsCanisius and the Stecher and Horozitz Foundation present pianist Kate Liu, performing a program of music by composer Frederic Chopin at 2:00 p.m. (please note the updated time) in the Montante Cultural Center.

Included in the program are three Mazurkas, Op. 56; Ballade No. 4 in F Minor, Op. 52; Andante Spianato et Grande Polonaise Brilliante, Op. 22; and Chopin’s Sonata No. 3 in b minor, Op. 58.

Liu was the first-prize winner of the 2010 New York International Piano Competition. She also earned top prizes in the Third Asia-Pacific International F. Chopin Piano Competition, the Montreal International Music Competition, Eastman Young Artists International Piano Competition, Hilton Head Young Artists International Piano Competition, Thomas and Evon Cooper International Piano Competition, the Senior Division of the Music Teachers’ National Association Competition and the Junior Division of the Louisiana International Piano Competition. She is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, PA.
