President’s Convocation Today (September 8)

The President’s Convocation is scheduled for today (September 8) at 2:30 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center.  I invite all students, faculty and staff to join me as I give a report on the state of the college and my plans for the future.  Time will also be available at the end for you to ask me questions.  I hope that you will be able to attend and stay to enjoy a reception that will follow the address.

Blood Drive Today (September 8)

The Canisius College American Red Cross club sponsors a blood drive today (September 8) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Palisano Pavilion.  Those who stop by can enter a drawing to win Bills tickets.  Free snacks will also be given out.

Project Conservation Seeks Input From Faculty, Staff

Project Conservation, Canisius’ eco-friendly club, invites all Canisius faculty and staff to complete a brief, six question survey that will gather input, comments, and suggestions for the club.  The group wants to be as active and present on campus as possible, and they are gathering the opinions of those who are part of the Canisius community of how to make the campus more eco-friendly and sustainable.

Modern Languages Lecture Addresses “Blended Learning”

The Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures presents a lecture by Fernando Rubio, PhD, chair of Languages & Literature at the University of Utah, on Thursday, September 29 at 2 p.m. in the Library Conference Room.  Rubio’s presentation, “Blended Learning:  The Perfect Recipe”, describes the fascinating implementation and successes of the new, hybrid method of second-language learning which he devised several years ago.  All are welcome to attend.
