Hello everyone! As we transitioned to the end of the semester I hope everyone is having positive experiences at their internships.

The networking event that I went to was back on October 5th for the second annual HomeCOMing with recent grads in the program coming back to campus to talk with students. This event was such a hit last year, and the same can be said about this time around. Unfortunately, I had to cover a Men’s Soccer game against Siena for our ESPN broadcast, so I wasn’t able to be at the event for as long as I would’ve liked.

When I did arrive it was awesome to see the number of students who stayed for the entire event. It was also exciting to see so many of the alumni who I had classes with during my first three years at Canisius and catch up with them. I think the Communications program as a whole is in a very influential spot because we have so many grads not just doing great things were in western New York but all over the country. One of my goals that I told Dr. Irwin when I first got to Canisius was that I was making it my mission to do my part in attempting to grow the sports broadcast journalism program, and that will continue to be a motivation of mine.

I helped with the cleanup at Science Hall (which was a great change in scenery from last year), because I wasn’t there until the last hour or so. Thankfully there was also some left over food that I got to chow down because I was absolutely starving from not eating dinner due to my chaotic day!

I can’t wait to read more about your experiences,

Griffin
