For my networking event, I was able to briefly attend the Griff Fair. I was there for about 45 minutes as I did have to leave to go to work. Despite only being there for less than an hour, I still was able to talk and network with a few company recruiters/representatives. I would never have thought I would talk to M&T Bank but I did. This wouldn’t be a company I normally would think to talk to in regards to a job but it was nice simply making a connection and inquiring about the company. Other than that I did speak with someone from PSE as well. This is a company I am really interested in especially within the focus I want to go into in social media. Aside from employers, I was able to talk to some of my peers as well. I met some new students from Canisius and we connected on LinkedIn. This was fun and something I wouldn’t have expected to come out of the Griff Fair. Overall I had a good experience and if I do attend another networking event soon I would like to not have time restraints because I think it would bring even more value.
