Hello everyone, my name is Justin Brown! I am a senior Integrated Marketing Communication major with a minor in Criminal Justice. For my internship, I am working in the Public Affairs division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Western N.Y. In my role I work closely with the Public Affairs Officer assisting her with writing press releases, preparing statements for public release, creating and reviewing documents to assist with the preparation of press releases and media reports, attending court sessions, attending and assisting at press conferences, meeting with members of the office to prepare public release documents, and general office tasks as assigned. I have worked two shifts since the start of the semester, both days have been amazing. I have left the office excited for my next shift and eager for what I will get to work on next. One of my favorite parts about this internship is working “nine-to-five” in the office and getting the feel for what it’s like to work a professional job. I have been able to assist on multiple press releases and am working towards writing my own, as well as working on a variety of projects from daily briefings to weekly outlooks to help prepare for future press releases. Additionally, I have been able to meet many of the attorneys and employees in the office, including the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of N.Y.
