None of us know exactly where we are going to end up after college…
AND after being in school for seven semesters, talking to my professors and recent college graduates about their after college experiences, I still have no clue where I will end up after I walk across the stage. I know what I’m interested in, I know what I’m good at, and I know I want to learn more. I attended Canisius’ Graduate Open House on Thursday, October 27th (Science Hall Commons), so I could get the chance to explore the graduate school possiblity. Everyone was dressed professionally and I was able to network with prospective undergrad students, current graduate students, alumni, and professors involved in each program offered. The event featured Career Seminars that were informational on the topics of resume building, using LinkedIn, and tips while job searching. After the presentations were done we had the opportunity to speak with students and professors involved in each of the graduate programs offered as well as speak with the various companies that many graduate students work for after they recieve their degree. I was able to learn about post graduate options/ careers paths. I’m still not sure on what I will be doing once I graduate but it was nice to meet people who were willing to give me insight into the possiblities available to students in my position.
