My internship was one of the best experiences of my life.  I was so fortunate to be able to intern at the United States Attorney’s Office in the Public Affairs Department.  I can honestly say that I’ve gained so much experience and I feel that I am better prepared to enter the real world.  It also really helped me figure out that if I don’t go to law school I know that I want to get involved in public affairs.

From day one I was working and helping my supervisor with her projects that she wanted to get done but hadn’t had the chance to get to.  I did a ton of research, especially on different drugs that the office deals with.  I didn’t realize how much research goes into public relations.  I also discovered that I’m good at the research; I have a knack for finding good sources of information and running with them.

The best part about my internship, though, was my supervisor.  Barb would work with me on writing press releases and she made sure I always understood why I was doing what I was doing. She really took me under her wing and guided me, but the best part was that she trusted me to take on some bigger projects by the end.  I’m so glad that I got to have this experience; it isn’t one that I will soon forget.
