It is a strange feeling to be writing a final reflection for my internship at EMA.  The semester has flown by and I can’t believe that in one short week I will be completely done.  Some say that internships are a way for you to check off the things that you don’t want to do, but my time at EMA has solidified my decision to pursue a career in advertising.  I have been fortunate enough to meet some truly amazing people that I will stay in contact with long after my internship ends.  I have worked on some really interesting projects for clients including Blue Cross Blue Shield of WNY, Rich Products, Mattel, Ford, and even Canisius College.  I had the opportunity to work with the media department on some different projects during my internship as well.  Media was never a field that I had ever really considered, but I found myself asking for more and more projects so I could develop my skills in this department.  An opportunity opened up at another agency for a Media Coordinator position and my supervisor encouraged me to apply.  I am happy to say that I now have a job at Quinlan & Company and I owe a large part of this to my internship at EMA.  I have become so much more confident in my abilities and I can now say that I am ready to enter the crazy world of advertising.  I LOVED my internship at EMA and I would definitely recommend this company to undergrads interested in pursuing advertising.  I really felt that throughout my internship I was a vital part of the organization and I surely wasn’t getting coffee and organizing files day in and day out!
