This was my third and final internship at Canisius College. As a communication studies major with a passion for interior design, I am very thankful that Dr. Irwin found the Interior Design Association.
I had no idea what to expect coming into this internship. I was a little nervous, but I received such a warm welcome from the IDA members that I felt comfortable right off the bat.
My hope for this semester was to learn what it’s like to be an interior designer, while using my communications background to assist the IDA. I can say that I absolutely achieved this goal. I learned that my communications background is beneficial in virtually any profession.
If I could have had an internship every semester I would have. I am grateful to have been able to test out the waters in so many areas of the communications field. The time has flown by, especially this last semester. Although I am not 100% sure on what my career path is, I feel confident in beginning the journey.
