Looking back on my internship, I can say I’m glad I did it. It was nerve-wracking being placed in such a big company – the Buffalo Sabres organization — having no prior formal broadcasting experience. The high-pressure environment of the broadcast office was a lot to deal with, but I enjoyed it. I now know that I can put a package together in time to make intermission report.
The most important thing I learned was how a workplace operates. The number of problems that can’t be solved with a little communication is very small, and everybody is willing to help if you ask for it. I was thankful to be surrounded by talented and knowledgeable people, my fellow interns included.
I won’t be afraid to put myself out there in the future, and I can’t wait to see what my next internship will bring.
