Persis Vehar, Canisius Composer-in-Residence, and Michael Colquhoun, adjunct professor of fine arts/music pose after the Persis Vehar Competition for Excellence in Composition. Student composers from area high schools have their works chosen, performed and critiqued at the Montante Cultural Center by the internationally known composers, Vehar and Colquhoun. Vehar received recognition for her many years of work with students both on and off the campus.
