Excellent Opportunity to Prep your Summer (or Fall) Courses In Desire2Learn

Are you preparing a course for the summer sessions? If so, the ITS FacTS Center will offer a two day workshop spanning the continuum of everything you need to know to successfully build your course. If you’ve not had the opportunity to attend our workshops, this is a great opportunity to literally build your course in two days. Just bring your files on a flash drive or bring in your computer and we’ll take you step-by-step through the process. If you have attended our workshops, you are welcome as well.

If you’d like to sign up for Boot Camp go to checkbox.canisius.edu/workshops.aspx. If you have any questions, please contact Joe Rizzo at rizzo1@canisius.edu or x8354.

Desire2Learn Day

This year, on March 28, the ITS FacTS Center will offer the Canisius community an opportunity to see how their colleagues are using D2L and will share what they’ve learned with you. There will be a student panel to share their experiences with Desire2Learn, as well. For more information, please click here.

Important News Regarding Checkbox

Last January and early February, I published articles in the Dome and the Canisius Portal letting the Canisius community know that we have upgraded Checkbox and moved it to another server to increase its speed and efficiency.

The new browser address is now: checkbox.canisius.edu. The user interface hasn’t hanged too much but the backend has, which is why ITS decided to upgrade.

We also have entered users in the new Checkbox on a “per request basis.” If you plan on using Checkbox please send a message to helpdesk@canisius.edu stating your department, full name, and your Canisius user id. When your account is created, you’ll be notified by email with a password and instructions on how to change your password. It is recommended that, for simplicity, you change your password to your Canisius password.

If you have any questions please contact Joe Rizzo at rizzo1@canisius.edu.
