MAAC Basketball Pairings Set

The regular season is over and it’s time for playoff basketball. Both your men’s and women’s basketball teams, along with the cheer and dance teams and a healthy group of student supporters, will descend on Springfield, Massachusetts later this week for the annual hoop extravaganza known as MAACachusetts.

Your women’s team rallied at the end of the season to lock up the final first round bye. The Griffs placed fifth in the league and will battle fourth-seeded Quinnipiac at 2:30 Friday afternoon.

The men split their final road trip of the season and claimed a share of third place in the conference with Quinnipiac. The Griffs lost the tie-breaker to fall to the fourth seed where they will match up with the conference’s hottest team in Siena. The squads will battle at 2:30 on Saturday afternoon.

If the women win on Friday they will play again on Sunday morning. Should the men advance, they would play on Sunday afternoon. Championships for both genders will be held on Monday.

For additional information, visit the Canisius Tournament Central page at gogriffs.com. All of the men’s games can be heard on 1400 AM, while both the men’s and women’s contests will be on gogriffs.com. All games on Saturday and Sunday will be available for view on espn3.
