Fourteen Canisius faculty members who were recently promoted or granted tenure or emeritus status were recognized on Friday, September 13 at a ceremony in the Andrew L. Bouwhuis Library. President John J. Hurley, assisted by Vice President for Academic Affairs Rick Wall, PhD presented each recipient with a certificate of achievement. Honorees were also invited to dedicate a book of his/her choice to add the library’s main collection (or dedicate a book in the library’s existing collection).

Those faculty members who were promoted to full professors were Sandra Estanek, PhD, professor of graduate education and leadership; Rev. Patrick Lynch, SJ, PhD, professor of religious studies; Kristin Finn, PhD, professor of teacher education; Mark Hodin, PhD, professor of English and Christopher Lopata, PsyD, professor of teacher education.

The faculty members awarded tenure and promoted to associate professor were Kelly Harper, PhD, teacher education; Susan Margulis, PhD, biology; and James Oigara, EdD, teacher education.

Those faculty recognized for achieving emeritus status include Antone (Joe) Alber, PhD, Wehle School of Business; James Lauffenburger, PhD, physics; George Boger, PhD, philosophy; Jack D’Amico, PhD, English; Michael Gent, PhD, management; and H. Jeanette Willert, adolescence education.
