Additional Community Families Needed for New International Students

The Office of International Student Programs is looking for a few more Canisius community family volunteers to connect with the new international students this semester.

The Canisius community family program pairs international students with a family from the Canisius community, including staff, faculty, administrators and alumni. Families include their student in family events, activities, and holiday celebrations. Families are encouraged to contact and invite their student to family outings at least once per month.

The ISP office hosts two events each semester to encourage communication between families and their students. The student does not live with the family. The family should provide a support network for their international student. If you are interested in volunteering, please submit an online application on the CCFP website by clicking here.

Canisius Math Circle, Fall 2013

A Math Circle is a friendly gathering for young students, where love for mathematics is the driving force.

Our Math Circle at Canisius will be meeting this semester on Tuesdays from 4:15 – 5:45 p.m. in Science Hall Room 1053.

Students from grades 7 – 12 who want to explore mathematical curiosities and have fun with mathematics are welcome. We had very successful meetings last school year, with presentations by Canisius faculty, students and local teachers.

This semester we will meet on September 17, 24, October 1, 8, 22, 29, November 5, 12, and 19.

Please visit our website with schedules at information by clicking here or visiting https://blogs.canisius.edu/themathcircle/

Help us spread the word. Anyone interested can register by email at themathcircle@canisius.edu or call Ext. 3291.
