Canisius College has announced the 2013 recipients of its Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Award.

Presented annually to a student and non-student (faculty, staff or administrator), the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Awards recognize individuals at the college who demonstrate the ideals of the civil rights leader through the promotion of social justice, racial harmony, civil rights, human rights, advocacy for the poor or nonviolence.

This year’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award recipients are Betsy M. DelleBovi, PhD, associate professor of adolescence education and Dorian B. Dallas, a senior adolescence education major (grades seven -12) with a concentration in English.

Honorees will be recognized during the Canisius College Spring Honors Convocation on May 17 in the college’s Montante Cultural Center.

Chairsperon of the 2012-2013 MLK Awards Committee is Dr. Bruce J. Dierenfield.
