Hughes recently organized the stunning collection-based exhibitions “Picasso: The Artist and His Models,” “Monet and the Impressionist Revolution, 1860–1910” and “Arp, Miró, Calder.” The current exhibit, “Menagerie: Animals on View,” is Hughes’ engaging presentation of much-loved and some rarely seen works from the gallery’s permanent collection. “Menagerie” offers visitors a captivating view of the innumerable ways in which artists depict animals in their works.
