_M4I01421Approximately 260 students received their degrees during graduate commencement ceremonies on Wednesday, May 17 at the Koessler Athletic Center.

Christine M. Licata-Culhane ’67, MS ’71, EdD, delivered remarks to the Class of 2017.  The senior associate provost and professor in the Division of Academic Affairs at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) has worked in the field of education for more than 40 years.

Vacation Carryover Reminder

Full-time administrators and staff, with the exception of those staff members represented by the collective bargaining agreement, are able to carry over one week of vacation into the following year.  Please manage your vacation time to ensure that only a maximum of one week is carried into next fiscal year, which begins June 1, 2017.

Canisius College Reading and Writing Camp

The Canisius College Summer Reading and Writing Camp will be held July 17-21 and July 24-28, Monday-Friday from 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. The camp provides reading and writing experiences for students in grades 2-12. There is a reduced price for enrolling in both camps.

During camp, students engage in highly motivating small group activities including literature circles, readers’ theater and poetry jams. Attendees will work with peers and with literacy interns who are certified teachers near the completion of a master’s degree in literacy education. Canisius College faculty supervise the camp experience.
