Mary Wilson, the wife of the late Buffalo Bills owner, Ralph C. Wilson Jr., visited Canisius to meet and congratulate the latest recipients of Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Sports Scholarships.

Awarded annually, the scholarships assist academically deserving student-athletes from Western New York and Southern Ontario.

This years’ scholarship recipients are: Christian Westermeier ’17, biology; Marissa Watroba ’17, marketing; Greg Staebell ’18, finance; and Meghan Tyler ’18, information systems. All are members of the swim and dive teams.

The 2017 Regent’s Ball will go down in the books as raising the largest amount of money in the event’s 51-year history. Nearly 600 guests helped to raise more than $180,000 at this year’s Scholarship Ball. Proceeds provide scholarship support for promising students who otherwise might not be able to take advantage of a Canisius education.

Tamara Moscovic ’17, a student from Serbia who attends Canisius on a basketball scholarship, expressed her heartfelt thanks to the college community for giving her “the experience of a lifetime.”  Christopher Koch, CEO of New Era Cap, received the 2017 Regents Distinguished Citizen Award.

The event was held on Saturday, May 6 at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo.

With the 2017 semester coming to a close, the Koessler Athletic Center (KAC) will be moving into summer hours of operation starting today, May 12. The building will be open Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The KAC will be closed Saturdays and Sundays.

Starting on Monday, May 22, there will be the following open swim times Monday – Thursday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
