The Canisius College Video Institute production of the October episode of “Kaleidoscope” premiered earlier this month on WGRZ-TV Channel 2. This 30-minute television program celebrates the religious diversity of our region and is produced in conjunction with the Network of Religious Communities. “Kaleidoscope” will rebroadcast on Friday, October 14 at 6:35 p.m. on Time Warner Cable 20 and Sunday, October 16 at 8:00 p.m. on Time Warner 6 in Olean.
In the first segment, Rabbi Perry Netter of Temple Beth Tzedek talks with Kim Yonaty on the subject of the High Holy Days.
In the second segment, Dr. Stan Bratton talks with Dr. Surjit Singh of the Sikh Societies of the Niagara Frontier and Rev. Jonathan Lawrence, PhD, associate professor of religious studies at Canisius College, about the meaning of Holy Scriptures in each of their traditions.
Students in the Canisius College Video Institute produce “Kaleidoscope” under the guidance of Jamie O’Neil, associate professor of digital media arts and co-director of the Video Institute, and Paula DeAngelis-Stein ’86, MS ’02.
