Apple has determined that certain Seagate 1TB hard drives used in 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMac systems may fail. These systems were sold between October 2009 and July 2011. Apple will replace affected hard drives free of charge. This program covers affected iMacs for three years after the first retail sale of the unit or until April 12, 2013, whichever provides longer coverage. Apple will continue to evaluate repair data and will provide further repair updates to this program as needed.

If you have an iMac computer in your office with a 1TB hard drive, please contact Scott Clark in ITS at x8357 or email clarks@canisius.edu in order to facilitate this repair.

If you have one of these affected computers at home, you may get it serviced at MacSolutions in Eastern Hills Mall (823-3085) or the Apple Store in Walden Galleria.
