Help Preserve Canisius History

Faculty and staff in all areas of the college are a vital part of documenting the official record and history of Canisius.

Policy 3.3.19 confirms the need to preserve materials and defines the official record as the original copy of any record created or received in the course of college business. To assist with this, please send copies of your brochures, marketing material, templates (of forms, letters to students, and similar), flyers, reports, meeting minutes, and any other material that fits the above definition to Kathleen DeLaney, college archivist.

Help us tell the story of Canisius to future Griffs and community researchers.

If you have questions about what to send or need assistance, please contact Kathleen DeLaney at delaneyk@canisius.edu or Ext. 8421.

3D Printing for Pre-Engineering Students

COLI’s FDM 3D Printers, Rigby and Mordecai, were again hard at work printing for students!

Dr. Mike Wood’s Introduction to Engineering class (EGR111) have designed and are building a solar-powered water elevation system – an Archimedes Screw. While they have constructed much of it from available materials, they required specialized fittings, and submitted their designs to COLI for printing.

With this project, EGR 111 students are introduced to some basics of professional design, fabrication, and engineering excellence. We may do the printing, but students are doing the critical design work!

Thanks to Dr. Wood for letting us assist in this authentic learning experience for our Canisius students!

Adjunct Faculty Information Session

On Thursday, January 5 at 5:00 p.m. COLI is hosting an Adjunct Faculty Information Session, where new and returning part-time faculty can learn about resources available to them at Canisius College. This includes HR services, the Library, and information technology tools and options. We also serve dinner!

This is a great opportunity to get acquainted with teaching at Canisius, and learn about things that can help you teach either face-to-face or online.
