Email Retention Policy Update

Information Technology Services (ITS) is pleased to announce a longer Email retention for all faculty and staff.

Effective immediately, Emails sent and received by faculty and staff will be retained for 180 days. The vice president for academic affairs (VPAA) and the Faculty Senate had requested a longer retention to carry through an entire semester.  ITS worked with the VPAA, the vice president for business and finance and the Center for Online Learning (COLI) to expand Email retention.

In addition to this change, COLI has created the first in a series of quick Email Management Tutorials to help you extend the life of Emails that need to be retained indefinitely using folders. Visit our wiki page here to learn more.  ITS will also send out reminders three times a year to facilitate timely archiving.

If you need assistance with managing your Email, please contact the help desk at helpdesk@canisius.edu or at 716.888.8340.
