ITS Upgrades You Need to Know

ITS updated the Canisius College portal (my.canisius.edu) to a new version on Friday, August 3. If you “book-marked” myCanisius in your preferred internet browser, you may need to update that link. Any saved “favorites” within the portal that are now RED, will also need to be replaced by dragging links up from the Launchpad. If you need assistance with these activities, please contact the Help Desk at Ext. 8340.

The way to access PC software in campus labs has also changed.  AppsAnywhere is now online (http://appsanywhere.canisius.edu).  This highly anticipated product rollout will change the way we use software and help our students to centralize software access in our labs.  Be sure to check it out from any campus-owned computer. Access from student-owned computers will expand as we move forward.

The introduction of MobilityPrint last spring enhanced printing on campus. Users can now easily print from campus-owned and personally-owned computers, cell phones and tablets. More information is available at http://www.canisius.edu/printing

As announced earlier this summer, the classroom cleanup is underway.  IT is going through all the classrooms on campus and removing excess furniture and other items that do not belong.  We have created lists of repair items and are working with facilities to clean up and improve the look and feel of the rooms.  We ask that furniture NOT be moved in or out of classrooms. All classrooms now have the appropriate seating capacity for the size of the room.  If you find that a classroom does not meet your needs please contact the Registrar to look at moving your classes.  We will proceed through the next academic year planning technology and infrastructure improvements for our classrooms to bring them into the 21st century. Signage with room capacities, contents and occupancy limits will be placed in rooms this fall.  Keep an eye out and let us know if you have any questions or suggestions.

ITS Help Desk hours for the first two weeks of classes starting on Monday, August 27 through Friday, September 7 will be as follows:

Monday – Thursday

8:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
