Philanthropy at Canisius reached new heights in fiscal year 2017-18, as the college secured more than $10 million in donations from the college community. The amount raised marked the college’s highest non-campaign annual total in its history. In addition to several large gifts and bequests, Canisius exceeded its goal for the annual fund, raised a record total on Giving Day and added almost 40 new members to the college’s Leadership Society ($1,000+).
“Everywhere I go, I encounter alumni and parents who cannot say enough good things about the Canisius experience,” says President John J. Hurley. “It’s so gratifying to see that come back to us in philanthropy.”

Canisius will also direct a portion of the grant toward equipment for the program, including digital anatomy tables, practice mannequins for skills development, and computer and audiovisual equipment to record and play information for case studies.
