On Thursday, March 23 the All-College Honors and Animal Behavior, Ecology and Conservation (ABEC) programs will welcome Ellen Dierenfeld, PhD, former chief nutritionist for the Bronx and St. Louis Zoos. Dierenfeld’s lecture on animal nutrition and conservation will be in the Grupp Fireside Lounge at 7:30 p.m.
Dierenfeld has extensive expertise in comparative animal nutrition and global sustainable agriculture, with more than 20 years of experience in basic and applied animal nutrition research. She has managed several sustainable agriculture initiatives on six continents which focus on local feed ingredient utilization and alternative animal protein production.
Dierenfeld directed the Wildlife Nutrition Center at the Wildlife Conservation Society and is the manager of the Global Sustainability Programs at Novus International Inc.
