Congratulations to Rich Kennedy, event coordinator in the Office of Event Services, upon receiving the Ignatian Medal for Outstanding New Professional in Jesuit Student Affairs at the 2017 Jesuit Association of Student Personnel Administrators (JASPA) Conference on March 11 in San Antonio, TX. The award is conferred upon individuals who have distinguished themselves in the early years of their careers. A new professional is defined as a person with three years or less of service in Jesuit student affairs work.

Ignatian Medal recipients bring a strong sense of professionalism to their job, have demonstrated a high level of skill or ability, or have shown an early record of success, that stands above the norm.

Thank you Rich for all that you do for our Canisius community!

Men’s Basketball Starts Postseason Run

Douse_NU9251
The Canisius men’s basketball team begins its postseason run tonight, March 14, in the CollegeInsiders.com Tournament (CIT). The Griffs (18-15) will take on the Samford Bulldogs (19-15) in the first round of the tournament at 7:30 p.m. Tonight’s matchup and all other CIT games will be streamed online via Facebook Live here.

The CIT is oriented toward mid-major schools that did not get selected to go the NCAA or NIT tournaments. Unlike the NCAA postseason tournament, the CIT does not use a bracket format. As a result, second-round games will not be determined until the first round is completed.

Employee Reimbursements Update

Beginning April 1, all employee expense reimbursements will be made as Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments (electronic funds transfer). The college will no longer issue paper checks for these transactions. The use of an ACH payment process will provide efficiency and cost savings to the college.

If you are currently using direct deposit for your paycheck, the Controller’s Office will use your primary payroll account information to set up your ACH payment account.  If you are not using direct deposit for your paycheck, you will need to provide your banking information prior to requesting an expense reimbursement.  Expense reimbursements will be processed on Tuesdays with the funds available at your bank on Fridays. Email notifications will be sent when reimbursements have been processed.

If you have any questions, please contact JoAnn Feary in the Controller’s Office at Ext. 8528.
