ArtsCanisius and the Stecher and Horowitz Foundation present pianist Anna Han in a recital of music by Chopin on Sunday, September 28 at 2:00 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center.

Anna was the first prize winner of The Sixth New York International Piano Competition in June 2012; a biennial event presented under the auspices of The Stecher and Horowitz Foundation. Stephen Brookes of The Washington Post writes: “The prodigious Anna Han – who walked off with this year’s prize at the tender age of 16 – put on a display of imagination, taste and pianistic firepower that was far beyond her years. It may have been Han’s naturalism and grace at the piano, though, that impressed the most…(November 26, 2012). Anna is currently pursuing her bachelor of music degree at The Juilliard School under the tutelage of Robert McDonald.

Her recital will feature a wide variety of Chopin’s pianistic writing, including is Sonata No. 2 in B-flat minor, Op. 35; several of his Mazurka’s and Etudes, as well as his Andante Spianato et Grande Polonaise Brillante, Op. 22. This recital is free and open to the public and is not to be missed!
