International Student Programs Seeking Canisius Community Families

The Office of International Student Programs welcomed a group of approximately 65 new international students to the college this month. One of the programs that the office provides to assist with their transition to Canisius and the United States is the Canisius College Community Family Program. Similar to a host family program, we connect students with Canisius faculty, staff and alumni so that they may experience what it is like to be part of an American family in Buffalo, New York. Whether you are a family of one or 20, we appreciate anyone who is willing to volunteer their time to be a part of this program. International Student Programs sponsors events each semester in which we invite our community families and the international students to attend. Should you be interested in signing up for this program or have any questions regarding it, please contact us at ispmail@canisius.edu or the Canisius Community Family Program website to complete the application by Thursday, September 4, 2014: http://www.canisius.edu/resources/services/international-student/family-program/

Canisius College Training Schedule

On Tuesday, September 2 and Wednesday, September 3, the Office of Enrollment Management will conduct Canisius College Training.

All members of the campus community are welcome to attend the sessions, which will be held in the Montante Cultural Center.  Presentations will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. on each day, are 30 minutes in length and will be back-to-back the entire day ending at 5 p.m.  We ask attendees to be respectful of speakers as they enter and exit the presentations.

The purpose of the event is to provide a comprehensive training on Canisius College through brief presentations of academic and non-academic program offerings at the institution. This will assist community members representing the college in student recruitment, athletic recruitment, institutional advancement and provide general campus knowledge.
