Tune in to Crossroads

Tune in to “Crossroads” radio program on Sunday, May 5 for a conversation on “The Argentina of Pope Francis” with
Fernanda Astiz, PhD, associate professor of adolescence education and director of Latin American studies.

“Crossroads” is hosted by Rev. Patrick Lynch, SJ, chair of religious studies and theology. It airs at 6:00 a.m. Sunday, on WJYE (96.1 FM) and at 6:30 a.m. on WBUF (92.9 FM).

The program can also be heard in its entirety, beginning May 6 on the college’s iTunes site.

Dierenfield Named Distinguished Professor

The Canisius College Alumni Association will present Bruce J. Dierenfield, PhD, with its 2013 Kenneth L. Koessler Distinguished Faculty Award during spring honors convocation at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17 in the Montante Cultural Center. The prestigious award is presented annually, and recognizes one faculty member for teaching excellence and outstanding contributions to the academic world.

Dierenfield is a professor of history at Canisius College. He is renowned among students for his rich academic knowledge on U.S. history, establishing and coordinating the college’s Program in the African American Experience, and as the dynamic director of the All-College Honors Program.
