Last Chance To See Mini-Zoo

The Canisius College Zoo Biology Program will close its eighth annual mini-zoo tomorrow (November 18).  This year’s installment, “Safari Canisius: a celebration of African wildlife” is located in Health Science Building Room 102.  The mini-zoo features nine species on loan from The Buffalo Zoo and is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m..  To view a live webcam of Safari Canisius, click here.

ArtsCanisius Presents Stuart Fuchs, Ukulele, Babik This Weekend

Stuart Fuchs, adjunct professor of guitar, will perform a recital entitled “A Brief History of the Ukulele: The Life and Times of a Four-Stringed Underdog” this Sunday (November 20) at 2:30 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center.  The event is free and open to the public.

Fuchs (ukulele) will be joined by members of his Gypsy Jazz band, Babik in this dynamic performance. This concert/lecture of lively ukulele music ranges from its Portuguese and Hawaiian origins through the era of vaudeville and Tin Pan Alley, Jazz, Blues–even J.S. 2011 Distinguished Alumni Award Dinner November 19

The Office of Alumni Relations will host the 2011 Distinguished Alumni Award Dinner on Saturday, November 19 in the Montante Cultural Center.  The cost is $75 per person and begins with cocktails at 6:00 p.m.  This year the recipients are:

Peter D. Farstad ’80; CAO, LifeSource, Upper Midwest, Organ Procurement Organization, Inc.
Karen J. Freeman ’83; former COO, Biologics Inc.
