myCanisius For Faculty, Staff Coming This Week

A version of the myCanisius portal for faculty and staff will launch Friday (November 18), and it will be accessible from the myCanisius link on the college homepage.  Through myCanisius, faculty and staff can enter their Canisius username and password for a single log-in provides access to Angel, Banner, personal employment information, and other tools and information available in the faculty & staff page of the Canisius website.

The myCanisius site is flexible and always evolving.  Please forward comments and ideas to the Human Resources Department.  As always, protect personal information by closing your browser when leaving your screen and never share your password.

Record Attendance For Undergraduate Open House

Canisius welcomed approximately 1,500 students and families, a record attendance for any open house, on Sunday, November 13.  Faculty and staff, as well as student services, were on-hand to help students from as far away as California and Beijing get an inside look at Canisius.  Prospective students and families attended financial aid seminars, academic presentations, an academic majors fair and enjoy campus tours.

Open Enrollment for Canisius Care Flexible Spending Accounts

Open enrollment for Canisius Care begins today (November 14) and runs through December 9.  Anyone wishing to enroll for 2012 must complete an enrollment form and return the form to the Office of Human Resources.  Enrollment forms can be found here.

Current participants in the plan should not discard their PowerPay card from Independent Health.  The card will be reloaded at the end of 2011 with the amount elected for 2012.  An enrollment form must be completed.

Online Event Request Training

The Office of Event Management will offer informal and intuitive workshops covering room reservation requests, how to navigate the online calendar and what facility options are available to faculty and staff.  Sessions will be held Thursday (November 17), Wednesday, November 30 and Friday, December 9 at 10 a.m. each day in WT 303.  Faculty and staff only need to attend one session.

This workshop is designed for the beginner or as a refresher course for the veteran schedulers.  Reserve a seat now as computer terminals limited.  Please contact Mark Dzielski at to RSVP or for more information.
