Through the Employee Assistance Program, Child & Family Services reminds Canisius faculty and staff that there are easy and free options available for help in preparing federal and state taxes. There are several tax preparation sites throughout the city of Buffalo which are sponsored by Creating Assets, Savings & Hope (CASH) division of the United Way of Buffalo & Erie County. Online software available here provides other extremely useful tax information as well. Users of the service must earn $57,000 or less (the community sites offer service to those earning $50,000 or less). Also, returns are filed electronically and direct deposit is available where refunds are issued and received within eight to 15 days.
