Canisius College marked the beatification of Victorian Catholic theologian John Henry Cardinal Newman by the Roman Catholic Church with a panel discussion of Newman’s work and its continuing significance to the role of Catholic colleges and universities yesterday (September 20) in the Grupp Fireside Lounge.


Panelists included (pictured above, from left to right) John J. Hurley, president, Canisius College; Sister Denise A. Roche, GNSH, PhD, president, D’Youville College; Msgr. J. Patrick Keleher, director of the Newman Center, University at Buffalo; and Rev. James M. Pribek, S.J., PhD, associate professor of English, Canisius College. Scott A. Chadwick, PhD, vice president for academic affairs at Canisius, served as moderator.
